It takes time to get good in any profession. You have to be willing to apprentice before you can become a great master craftsman.

My dad was a master craftsman.

He honed his skills over decades of hard work. He never cut corners.

 
The art of the craftsman
Walk into any woodworking or metal shop and you will find several grizzly old men who don’t have time for idle chit-chat. They are busy working on their next project.
